Samsung is improving the One UI 4.0 beta experience for Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 customers in South Korea with a new Android 12-based release. It’s the second One UI 4.0 beta firmware to roll out for the 2019 flagship models after the beta program opened earlier this week, and the changelog mentions tons of improvements across the board.

The new One UI 4.0 beta firmware for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 lineups solves performance (stuttering) issues when using the Messages app, playing videos, or scrolling through the Weather app.

It also addresses issues related to the Edge panel not working, apps missing from Secure Folder, and Instagram/Facebook links causing errors. In addition, users should no longer face errors when playing mp4 files in the Video app, and background blur effects should now apply correctly in the Recent Apps screen.

The changelog is nearly identical across the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 lineups, with one exception. Namely, the update fixes a bug related to the haptic motors, which doesn’t seem to be affecting the Galaxy Note 10 lineup.

Taking big steps towards a final release
Beta testers can identify the latest update by the final four letters in the firmware version “ZUL5.” As for the first public One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10, Samsung’s roadmap for India points at a January 2022 release, though some markets could be getting the firmware sooner. It all depends on how fast Samsung irons out the kinks.
