Tech TalkIs an App Lock Feature Finally Coming to Samsung? Or Will Secure Folder Remain the Only Option?
Samsung users have long requested a native App Lock feature — something that allows individual apps like WhatsApp, Gallery, or Notes to be locked with a PIN or fingerprint, without relying on third-party apps. While brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Vivo offer this functionality out of the box, Samsung has historically taken a different route.
Instead of a universal app lock, Samsung promotes its Secure Folder, a private, encrypted space protected by Samsung Knox. Secure Folder allows users to clone apps and keep personal files or conversations locked away. It’s a powerful tool for privacy, but it doesn't offer the convenience of locking apps directly from the home screen.
