Old Samsung tablet

I got given an old Samsung tablet(model is GT-P7500) still running Android 4. I have been unable to get it to login to my Google account, nor even create a new one. I will mostly be using it for some light gaming and streaming and Netflix. 

Also, is there any way to update the OS to a newer version of Android?

Hi there unfortunately it will either remain on android 5.1.1 lollipop or marshmallow 6.0

You have to get a custom ROM. Even Google doesn't support Android 4 anymore and won't let you log into an account. You need to have minimum Android 5

You check if there is a custom ROM for the tablet, get root access, flash twrp recovery and flash the custom ROM. But 1st check if there is a ROM available...use XDA

There are roms available, but my problem now is finding a cable to connect the tablet to my computer 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️
