Why do I need to put PIN in while using Samsung Pay?

Problem Description: I need to put my PIN in card machine even though I have fingerprint configured for PIN.

Current Observation:
+ Phone is S7 Edge
+ ICICI Debit Card is used
+ Fingerprint is used instead of PIN
+ Still machine asks for PIN

If I need to put PIN by myself the what is the use for fingerprint?

Fingerprint is used to authorize your phone to start beaming your card information via MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) to the card machine, think of it as carrying digital card.

you need to punch in your Card PIN into the machine to authorize payment as required by Card Providers in India (Visa/MasterCard/etc) to authenticate if it's you to prevent fraud in case you lose your card. that's why it says PIN verified. no signature required. in the payment slip.

Consider Samsung Pay as carrying digital version of your cards in case you have many, usable on any standard machine (MST) or machine that supports NFC.

1st way to do it is:

1. Open up Samsung Pay
2.Verify it using ur Fingerprints or Pin
3. Tap over the Machine
4. Enter the Amount
5. Use ur Card's PIN and do the payment

2nd Way to do it:

1. Ask the Vendor to enter the Amount in the Machine first
2. Press Green button in the Machine I mean Ok Button on Machine
3. Now Open the Samsung Pay App
4. Authorize it using ur Fingerprints or Samsung Pay PIN
5. Tap over the Machine and Ur payment is done.

I would alwaz choose second option over the first as it does not require Card's PIN. However not all machines have the option to enter amount first. Luckily got to try both the option and it works like a charm.
