New scam by Samsung

I had ordered Samsung galaxy s 23 from Samsung shop along with my old device exchange during festival offers season.

I was aware that this scam is run in famous online shopping platform like amazon but never expected Samsung also directly practicing such things.

What is the scam ?
They give you huge discounts and offers on the online platform. 

While delivering they come up with some issues or (they create some issues intentionally ) which makes the complete order cancel and further when you want to reorder the same offer will not be applicable because the offer is valid only for a period of time. 

What happened with me?

I have ordered a phone with exchange of my old phone. In the online platform it asks for 2 options , 

1. Smart exchange - where your phone would be collected first ,taken to the shop for inspection then the exchange amount what they offer will be credited to you.
 2. Instant exchange - where your phone would be exchanged at the time of delivery . They will ask for the condition of the phone during the order process itself. Here you would be asked to check display, phone condition , calls recieving capability and functionality. 

You have to note that in the 2nd option you will get huge discount. I have also opted foe this since there was a 50 % of the phone value was ofdered. 

How they will cancel or make you to cancel the order ?

While inspecting the phone at the time of delivery , all the working condition , functionality were fine . But , the delivery person rejected the phone because of the minor dent existing on the phone which is negligible. 

Here you have to note that the delivery personal is not a Samsung executive , but the third party official. He won't pass the phone since he has to give the money .

What inconvenience i faced?

I waited for 7 days to recive my phone .
I went to courier delivery point by myself to receive the order. 
Now , if I have to order new phone my credit amount is locked for INR 70k . This would be unlocked after 7 - 10 working days after they refund the amount.

Upon that , they don't offer data back.up service While delivering (obviously) , for which I have backed up all my data and made factory reset .


Who would pay for my effort , time and locked money for 15 days?
Samsung India has to answer .

Upon calling customer care they have nothing to offer but the suggestion to cancel the order and order freshly.

Do you really think after all this scam I am gonna order again from Samsung shop ? Or order Samsung products?

Same thing happened with me. They have iletrates bluedart rep or cashify rep to do the device evaluation. Even if Cashify Diagnostic app clears all the tests, still they reject device giving silly excuse. Mine was not even having single scratch, dent or any issue, still the rep. rejected the pickup. Pathetic experience provided ny Samsung, Cashify and Bluedart.

Don't buy things from samsung shop,it uses 3rd party courier service ,amazon has no such issues.

Samsung and Flipkart are the worst in the case of phone exchanges. They recover the difference of sale value due to the device defects from the person picking up the phone from their salary thereby making them behave in such a way and thats pathetic for such huge organisations. If they expect users to keep their devices in such prestine conditions, why would the customers need to buy new devices. There should be some tolerence levels for such defects atleast. I agree to you completely! And sad to see samsung doing the same for exchanges as this will soon become a bad trait for phone exchanges and increase e-waste.

Yes, experienced the same during purchase of s22 ultra and now again s24 ultra. The concerned person said the screen had burn in and cannot be done. I simply said do this And I will take both you and Samsung to consumer court. Then it was resolved.
