First try using the charger that you got in the box if it doesn't work do a factory reset & then try charging the phone again, if neither of these work.
Go to dialler type *#0228# this screen should appear (Screenshot for reference) Tap on quick start then press ok, do this until the *Level value is the same as the battery % shown in the status bar. Now restart & the battery should charger fully.
