No, you can't update from win 10 to 11. Just download the Win 11.iso and make a bootable usb from Rufus Software and re-install the windows

I don't think its permanently activated. Run CMD as administrator and run command "slmgr.vbs /xpr" and share screenshot.

Did you install on a VM? Or on bare hardware? I saw on Linus Tech Tips that it can't be installed on bare hardware.

Question: We can upgrade from 7 or 8.1 to 10 just by running the setup from desktop and it keeps all files and settings, can it be done with 11?

Only fresh installation is working. Enter your bios and reset your bios default setting after that you can boot win 11 bootable pendrive.
