So I have recently purchased a new laptop, Samsung Galaxy Book 2, from Amazon. It is supposed to come pre-installed with MS Office Home & student 2021. I have logged in using my existing microsoft account and I have activated windows. However, MS Office is not getting activated. It is still prompting me for subscribing to office 365 or entering License key. I have updated the app to latest version, restarted multiple times. Going to Microsoft help page isn't being helpful.

Can anyone please guide me how to activate MS Office that is pre-installed on a new laptop?

From where you're purchased the Samsung laptop, Samsung shop or Amazon?

My invoice also didn't mention too. Microsoft Support asking for invoice office 2021 mentioned. At first contact they asked me to install office 2021 again and later told me to contact account team and I'm stuck there since they are asking for invoice with office mentioned. Not sure if I'll be getting any progress. Idk what to do anymore.

Samsung support over whatsapp blatantly told me to contact Amazon as I purchased from Amazon. That is no justifiable from a brand like Samsung. Many users are facing this issue which is not present even at cheaper laptops. Samsung technical support team didn't prove to be helpful as well.

Hey!! I too had the same issue after buying Samsung galaxy book 2. But I contacted samsung and they told me to register on microsoft office app (word or excel or PowerPoint) with a completely new ID or mobile number.

So what i did, I reset my galaxy book 2 to original factory setting. Then on entering microsoft account i used a mobile number which was never used by me to register on microsoft. Doing this when I opened excel, a dialogue box automatically detected the inbuilt office 2021 pack in galaxy book 2. Then i followed on screen dialogue boxes.

Currently my office is activated for lifetime with no bugs and working smoothly .

Hope it helps others

**To enable inbuilt MS Office Student version first uninstall Office 365 then Add your Microsoft account to Laptop and then Go to MS Store App -> Library -> Included in this PC -> Click on redeem.Login to your micro soft account in browser and install the MS office available under Subscriptions ( This guidance was provided by MS Support not by Samsung)**
