The samsung messages app is broken

The samsung messages in my samsung s21 fe is broken as it shows i am connected with RCS but it sends sms. I cannot use the RCS feature on the app even though it shows me that i am connected to it.

i know people who only use messages app , and i cant pay for sms if i have feature that allows me to send messages for free
