After installing the One UI 5.1 update, the Google Assistant voice command used to send messages via WhatsApp is broken. When the voice command is used, Google Assistant says it can’t see a WhatsApp number for the contact to whom the message is to be sent.

Has anyone tried this 🤔

It hasn't worked for me either since the 5.1 update. I use to use this feature a lot 🙁

There appears to be a hidden option (Thank you Samsung!!!) to control "3rd party accounts visibility" in the Samsung Contacts application. This can be accessed like described in the comments at this link - credit to the original posters : https://www.sammobile.com/news/one-ui-5-1-update-breaks-google-assistant-whatsapp-integration/

I tested it and it worked fine, fixed this issue in both stand alone and Android Auto.

It is very strange how Samsung would include such a "hidden" setting to control these permissions, in such a way that it would break this integration, and not document it anywhere for the users to learn about it.

It's called "3rd party accounts visibility".

If you read the article at the link I mentioned above, and scroll down and read the comments section, you will find the exact steps to access it and turn it on for WhatsApp, which will fix the integration and allow it to work properly.
