You may have used Google’s Voice AI if you are receiving a privacy mail from Google. It speaks about new settings designed to give users more control.

In the updated settings, Google will turn off the audio recordings by default for users.

Users can go to the link provided by Google to enable the voice recordings.

Last year, Google faced criticism as human contractors who are essentially paid to transcribe the audio ended up listening to audios that had private information.

Google said it applies “a wide range of safeguards to protect user privacy throughout the entire review process,” and it does this review work to improve the Assistant’s natural language processing and its support for multiple languages. As per reports, 0.2 percent of all recordings are transcribed by humans, and that these audio clips are never presented with identifying information about the user.

With the latest move, Google wants to be upfront about its policy and leaves it to the users if they want the company to save their recordings.

Once users click on the link, they are directed to the page where they can enable the settings.

“If you agree, Google will also save audio recordings when you interact with Google Search, Assistant, and Maps, in your Google Account with your Google Account with your app and web activity,” Google notes once users click to enable their audio recordings.

Google is trash.

They are alive because of their monopoly. Any other company, besides Facebook, having such poor privacy track record would have been abandoned.
