South Korean mobile phone and electronics major Samsung plans to hire close to 1,000 engineers from India’s top technology colleges including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in 2019, as it continues to bolster its research and development facilities in the country. Samsung hired 1,000 engineers from campuses from the class of 2018. This placement season, Samsung has already hired R&D talent across the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other premier institutes such as BITS University. It has rolled out pre-placement offers at the older IITs and will be part of final placements at these institutes, which start on December 1. About onethird of the total hires will be from the IITs.
