Over the past few days, Samsung is releasing an important firmware update to various Galaxy devices including outdated as well. This update brings GPS stability improvements, however, the latest Samsung update has reportedly rooted a Galaxy F62 smartphone.

According to Samsung Community, a Galaxy F62 smartphone user has reported that his phone has stopped supporting the iMobile app which is useful for bank-related works and transactions. Per the screenshot shared by users, the iMobile app shows that “your device is rooted or jailbroken.”

The Galaxy F62 consumers denied of any case of rooting the device now or before, however, everything happened just after installing the GPS fix. Other apps are working fine because non-banking and related apps won’t be impacted by such causes.

As the GPS fix update is rolling out to several consumers worldwide, we recommend not to install it on your phone until Samsung brings fixes to the rooting issue. Over the past few years, Google made changes in the functionality and made Android rooting difficult, which can’t be done by general consumers.

Talking about possible solutions, the affected models should get a factory reset in case users found them rooted or unsupported with secure apps like payments and banking applications. You can also visit your nearby Samsung service center and share your concern, they are available to serve consumers.
