The camera application does not store any actual media files. It only contains temporary files. Media files such as photos and videos are stored in the gallery application.

The camera app taking up 3.92 GB of storage space is excessive and can contribute to performance issues, especially on a device with only 4 GB of RAM.

Possible Reasons for Excessive Storage Usage
1. _Cached data_: The camera app might be storing a large amount of cached data, such as temporary files, thumbnails, and other metadata.
2. _Saved photos and videos_: If you have a large number of photos and videos saved within the camera app, it could be contributing to the excessive storage usage.
3. _App updates and patches_: The camera app might have received updates or patches that have increased its storage footprint.
4. _Bundled features and modes_: Some camera apps come with additional features and modes, such as augmented reality (AR) effects, beauty modes, or manual modes, which can increase storage usage.

Troubleshooting Steps
1. _Clear cached data_: Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear cache.
2. _Delete saved photos and videos_: Remove any unnecessary photos and videos saved within the camera app.
3. _Uninstall updates_: Try uninstalling any recent updates to the camera app to see if it resolves the issue.
4. _Disable unnecessary features_: Disable any features or modes you don't use to free up storage space.

Additional Tips
1. _Use a third-party camera app_: Consider using a third-party camera app that is more lightweight and efficient.
2. _Regularly clean up storage_: Regularly clean up your device's storage by deleting unnecessary files, photos, and videos.
3. _Consider expanding storage_: If possible, consider expanding your device's storage capacity to alleviate storage constraints.

By following these steps, you should be able to reduce the storage usage of your camera app and improve your device's overall performance.
