I remember when I created a post regarding increasing your battery lifespan there were people who were advocating Charging a phone overnight (In simple words over charging)

Now I got something official here (From Samsung) to Justify when I said CHARGING YOUR PHONE OVERNIGHT IS A BAD IDEA FOR REAL.

Moreover we all know fast charging produces heat and thats another cause of the slow death of your battery.

So I guess its pretty clear now that no matter what the internet says, No matter what Someone's research lab says, continues charging your phone is a bad idea for your smartphones battery.
In other words Samsung doesn't recommend this.

Long periods is like days or months probably, like phones kept on display in shops etc. They are more prone to this type of damage.
Charging your phone overnight will charge only the standby battery drain that is about 4% to 5% so it won't matter much.
