What is an Edge Screen?
The edge screen is a customizable feature that consists of the edge panel and edge lighting. You can make it your own and have the information or actions you want available with just a swipe and a tap.
The edge panel works when the device is in standby mode. Slide your finger along the edge when the display is in standby mode to view the information you need, including news updates and the weather forecast.

APPS EDGE
The Apps edge, located within the edge panel, displays your five most frequently used apps for you to access at a moment’s notice. You're also able to customize it by adding apps or deleting apps.
SMART SELECT
Using smart select you can crop what's displayed on your screen. With various shapes like Square, Rectangle or a Circle. You could also save a Gif image. Or pin to screen a particular image of the screenshot.
TOOLS
In the tools edge screen you have various utility things like a Direction Compass, Ruler, Torch or a Surface Leveler
PEOPLE
Using this edge tool can be useful as a speed dial to quickly message or call contacts
WEATHER
Using this edge tool you could quickly glance at the weather.
REMINDERS
You could quickly add reminders like a shopping list or a tv show reminder.
In addition to these all When faced down, the edge lighting feature lights up the edge screen when you receive calls or notifications. You can color code up to five contacts that will appear in their respective colors when they get in touch, while all other calls or notifications will be shown in neutral bright light.
To eneble this go to Settings > Display > Edge Screen > Turn on edge lighting
You can also Choose which specific app you want in edge lighting.
Also you could change the lighting style
Change thieir colours and in advance section change the Edge lighting transparency and duration.
Also choose when to turn on the edge screen ie. : Always, When the screen is off or Only while the screen is on.
