I would like to know the difference between above two while I have been using Modes a lot lately Routines also feels similar to it with no practical difference apart from the fact that Routines come with widget support making it easily accessible on home screen.

Yeah... it's practically almost same thing...
.
But as the name suggests "Mode" means the situation/arrangement you are in ... So with certain Mode active, you can Turn ON multiple routines... This way Mode can be handy in some situations and if you use multiple Routines for a situation... Example - when I am at home, I don't need to worry about Battery, so I can turn ON 5G, enable Fast Charging, set AOD to always, Keep 120Hz refresh rate. All can be done by just enabling one Mode.
.
It's very limited for an automation app tbh when compared to other such app like Tasker.

Correction - you can use only One Mode for One Routine 🫤

Didn't get this? You mean in one mode I can assign only one routine to get triggered automatically???

Yeah... At first I saw that you can trigger a routine automatically if a mode is active... But when I tried to start multiple Routines automatically if one mode was active, I was not able to do so.
.
One more limitation 🫤
