I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with my Samsung Flip 4. Despite being fully charged (100%), the battery drains rapidly within hours, even when not in use. I've checked and confirmed that:

Mobile data: Off
Wi-Fi: Off
Location: Off
Bluetooth: Off

I've tried troubleshooting steps shared on Samsung Members and YouTube, but the issue persists.

Severe Battery Drain Overnight

If I leave my phone at 55% charge overnight (around 11 PM), it's completely dead by morning. This has happened repeatedly.

Disappointing Experience with Samsung Service Center

I visited the Samsung Service Center, but the representative seemed more interested in upselling unnecessary repairs. Initially, they quoted me ₹4,500+ for a battery replacement. Later, they suggested a software update for ₹300, claiming it might resolve the issue. When I asked them to replace the battery if the update didn't work, they mentioned an additional charging sensor replacement would cost ₹2,800.

Frustration with Samsung's Lack of Transparency

I'm disappointed that Samsung doesn't seem to have a clear solution for this issue. Instead, they're breaking down the costs into smaller, expensive repairs. I've also tried Samsung's remote management service, which reported that my battery is in good health.

Seeking a Proper Solution

I urge Samsung to provide a proper explanation and solution for this battery drain issue. As a loyal customer who's also owned a Fold 3, I'm reconsidering my choice to stay with Samsung.

Please help me resolve this issue.

It's incredibly frustrating to deal with a rapidly draining battery, especially after trying troubleshooting steps and encountering unhelpful service center experiences. Your experience with the Samsung Flip 4 battery drain and the service center's approach is unfortunately a common one, and many users have reported similar issues. Let's break down the situation and potential next steps:
Possible Causes (Beyond What You've Already Checked):
* Background App Activity: Even with mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and location off, some apps can still consume power in the background. Check your battery usage stats (Settings > Battery > Battery usage) to identify any power-hungry apps. Force stop or uninstall any suspicious apps. Pay particular attention to system apps – sometimes updates to these can cause issues.
* Software Glitches: While you mentioned a software update, sometimes a different update can introduce bugs. It's worth checking if there are any pending system or app updates, even if you recently updated. A factory reset is a drastic step, but sometimes necessary for software problems. (Be sure to back up your data first!)
* Hardware Issues (Beyond the Battery): While the service center mentioned a charging sensor, other internal components can cause a battery to drain quickly. A faulty processor, memory chip, or even a loose connection can contribute. This is where the service center should be helpful, but as you experienced, they often aren't.
* Battery Calibration: While less likely, sometimes the battery's charge percentage can become miscalibrated. Let the phone drain completely until it shuts off, then charge it fully to 100% without interruption. This might help recalibrate the battery reading, but it's unlikely to fix a serious drain issue.
* Overheating: If your phone gets excessively hot, it can cause the battery to drain faster. Avoid using the phone in direct sunlight or resource-intensive tasks for extended periods.
What You Can Do:
* Document Everything: Keep detailed records of your battery drain. Note the time you unplug, what you do with the phone, and the battery percentage at various intervals. This data will be helpful when dealing with Samsung support.
* Escalate with Samsung: Don't give up on Samsung support. Try contacting them through different channels (email, phone, social media). Politely but firmly explain the issue, the troubleshooting steps you've taken, and your disappointing experience with the service center. Mention that you're considering switching brands due to this issue. Sometimes, escalating to higher levels of support can yield better results. The key is to be persistent and polite.
* Second Opinion (Independent Repair Shop): Consider visiting a reputable independent phone repair shop. They might be able to diagnose the issue more accurately than the Samsung service center, and their prices may be more reasonable. Be sure to check reviews and ensure they use quality parts.
* Online Forums and Communities: Search online forums (like Reddit's r/Samsung or Samsung's community forums) for similar issues with the Flip 4. You might find others who have experienced the same problem and found a solution.
* Lemon Law (If Applicable): Depending on where you live, there might be "lemon laws" that protect consumers from defective products. Research if these laws apply to your situation.
* Backup and Factory Reset (Last Resort): As mentioned earlier, back up your data and try a factory reset. This is a drastic step, but it can sometimes resolve software issues.
Regarding the Service Center:
Their approach of breaking down costs is a common tactic, unfortunately. It's designed to make the overall repair seem less expensive, but it can add up quickly. Be firm

I really don't mind to visit your service center and I've visited earlier but I guess they are not even sure they are just increase the prices by mentioning the parts need to be replaced without even taking the phone in their inspection. They quote me more then ₹4500.00/- for battery change and additionally ₹2000.00 to ₹2500.00 for the port so what is the meaning of using samsung phone where I need to pay that much of amount just to make the phone not drain battery overnight

Hi, I was facing similar issue. For me it was adaptive brightness turned on. I turned that off and honestly can see a much bigger difference on my flip 4 battery life.
