Galaxy ZI bought a Galaxy Z filp 3 on December 18, 2021. However, due to the dead pixel issue of the display, it was decided to replace the display on July 14, 2022, and this was done by warranty. At that time, my device only had a dead pixel issue, and the display didn't turn off.
But after replacing the display, when I open the flip, the screen often turns off. So, on August 8, 2022, I visited the same service center again and requested service. However, the agent said that he would check whether the warranty could be repaired because there were dents in the external chrome on the upper right of the device, and that evening, he received a reply saying, "It is impossible to repair under the warranty because the hinge is damaged."
1. Chrome dents occurred before the display replacement in July.
2. The screen did not turn off before replacing the display. This started after replacing the display.
3. This part is not a hinge. External frame (chrome) and hinge are completely different concepts. The URL for the hinge described on the Samsung Electronics webpage is attached
https://news.samsung.com/global/get-an-inside-look-at-the-galaxy-z-flips-hideaway-hinge-part-2-sweep...
According to Samsung Electronics' official webpage, the part with dents is the 'frame'. It's not a 'hinge'. They refused to apply the warranty because of the 1mm size of the frame. Moreover, this issue did not exist before the Samsung service center replaced the display. After they cause a problem during the repair process, they pass the responsibility on to the customer.
I do not understand Samsung's decision to reject repairs under the warranty saying "there are dents on the hinge" despite the warranty period remaining sufficiently long and there are dents in parts that have nothing to do with the hinge. I tried to respond calmly even though I was angry that this problem occurred again following the dead pixel of the current display, but Samsung's irresponsible attitude makes me so angry.
In a situation where it is not enough to exchange the device for a new one because display issues are occurring one after another, refusing to apply the warranty makes me so angry.
