single tap to show finger print icon doesn't work after updating the Android 10

Single tap to show finger print icon on lock screen doesn't seem to work every time on S10 after upgrading to Android 10.

Is anybody else facing this issue?

Yup you are right even I am facing the same issue. But happening only sometimes.

Hi there,

Please follow the below mentioned steps in order to resolve the issue:-

1) Do the reset settings (setting>>general management>>reset>>reset setting).

2) Once remove the existing fingerprint and then again try to register the same.

3) Run the device in Safe mode and check the issue.

I think here's what is happening:
1. lock the device
2. Tap once, the finger print icon appears perfectly fine.
3. now wait for it disappear
4. Now click the power button to turn on the screen but do not unlock yet. Click the power button again to turn off the screen
5. Now single tap, the icon doesn't appear

here's what is happening. Probably a small bug which doesn't allow the finger print icon to show up once the power button is used to turn on the screen
