The new beta version 1.22102.135.0 of the Your Phone app is detected as malware app by Samsung Knox. Is there any way to allow the threat ? ( because of the annoying pop-up asking me to uninstall)

It is a false positive. And its not being detected as a malware by Samsung Knox, but by the McAfee integration.

The integration is done by Samsung supposedly to protect the user, right? So, the responsibility for issues like this can't be put on the head of McAfee.

The development is done by McAfee and the malware database is managed by McAfee. Also, let's say McAfee is fine, it could be Microsoft, they put some code in Link to Windows that triggered McAfee, even though it was uninteded. The responsibility is either of Microsoft or McAfee. No security system is 100% accurate. You should know that.

Nothing in the world is 100 percent perfect for that matter. The point is that Samsung can't say they are not responsible for the malfunctioning of an inbuilt - default app.

They are infact not responsible because they are not

1. Managing the malware database where a false positive exists

2. Developing Link to Windows with code that triggers the false positive.

McAfee x Samsung was a thing since when One UI came out. There were no such issues then. (This isn't even an "issue").

The databases are updated regularly and just maybe something unintended was added, which can be removed or modified easily. And also the Link to Windows app is updated regularly, wherein something might be triggering the database, which can also be modified too. Samsung has nothing to do here. We don't even know whether its McAfee or Microsoft. And it is evident that you don't know how security systems work.

Then why are they forcing these apps as default on their phones? I am sure that in a court of law or consumer court Samsung will be held responsible for the damages(if any) caused by the inbuilt and default apps. They just can't wash their responsibility of something they pre-installed on all their devices.

It is evident that you know nothing about the law of the land.

Law of the land? Tell me about it lol. First, they are NOT forcing it upon the users. It is up to the user to enable it. Second, it is a partnership, which is very common in business.

Now to the third point, as long as McAfee fixes this issue, no one will be held responsible, assuming that it is an issue on McAfee's side, which it could very well not be.

You are not giving either McAfee or Microsoft (the developer of the allegedly "malicious" app) to investigate the issue. You are not even considering Microsoft in your replies.

And for the record, I scanned my phone (the latest update installed from Samsung AND for Link to Windows) and I found nothing, safe to say that the issue has potentially been fixed. You are just blaming it on Samsung because, well only you know why. Anyways, I gave you my point and I expect nothing more from you. Have a good day.Screenshot_20221119-102542_Device care.jpg
