Why doesn't a High End Device like Samsung Galaxy S21 5G support Widevine L1 support? 

Can it be fixed in future updates? What the point of paying so much for a phone and having a FHD Subscription if I have to watch content in SD.

Hi there! S21 5G does support Widevine L1. If you have issues watching HD or FHD content on a specific app, try reinstalling or contacting support for that app.

Did that. Customer support tells me that the Widevine company has given L3 certification to S21 basis the specifications. And Netflix came as a default app in my phone so cannot uninstall it as well.

That's just wrong information. I know for a fact that S21 5G supports Widevine L1. Can you try some other streaming app to see if the issue persists or not?

Hotstar gives me FHD support

Well there you have it. If you can watch FHD even on one app, then you have Widevine L1 support in your device. And Hotstar does use Widevine L1, which means Netflix is at fault here, not Samsung.

Why such expensive phone does not support hdr content in netflix?

Clear the data in the app settings and re login in your Netflix account. That will do the job!
