Please give option for vertical scroll in app menu in the ONE UI. It's just super fast to find apps that way and makes the phone appear much much faster and responsive. I really like the native ONE UI launcher, please give this feature so that I can forget installing other launchers.

It's hard to challenge Ned Stark on a view, given his honour and stuff, but let me give it a shot 😛

When you reach the end page on the home screen and scroll further, you get the semicircle blue animation, which is standard Android end of scroll animation for 5 years now. I hate that animation and ONE UI does a classier transparency animation (don't know if I was able to explain that)

As much as I try to get the padding and icon size to work, the home screen just doesn't get to my liking, you know, medium padding is too much and less padding is too less, I guess it's just my OCD irking me on this

Searching apps is something I do very often on my devices. With Nova I have 2 options
1. Search using app menu search
2. Put a finder icon on home screen and search using that
The search bar in the app menu in Nova is too tall and the line underneath it is not centered, so I hate bad design and I don't use it
Finder icon on home screen works well, except finder is designed with ONE UI design, and it puts me off to be in Nova like designing, while sometimes being in ONE UI like designing

I take specific interest in design, and so, customisation not being my benchmark, ONE UI is far better designed than Nova, which is why I need ONE UI to have this small feature which, for me, will complete the one thing missing in my phone

Hope I could do justice to the answer :)

Aaaaaand... There are SOOOOOO MANY themes, wallpapers, and icons, that, OMG! And yes: I'm so much over the "beautification" aspect of the Launcher, because I really get bored with the same Theme all the time. I change according to my mood, weather, or easiness, depending on the day. 😊

It's not the question what nova launcher lacks or not. I don't want to install new or even pay for another launcher. The fact is that horizontal scroll with pages is obsolete for at least 4 versions ov android. I believe my first update of nexus 5 had switch to vertical scroll and I thank them for that. As laksh1789 already said, it's super fast to find apps, especially with alphabeth at the right edge of the screen. With these pages, first i need to figure out on which page i iurrently am, as id doesn't always open on first one, then i need to decide whether i should swipe left or right.

With vertical scroll, i know that youtube is among the last apps. With single kinetic swipe up, i get to the end of the list wit ease.

Please don't tell me that you can search for app, as there is no way that is easier than a swipe up.

Thanks laksh1789 for bringing this up. I feel your pain.

OMG, now you're trolling. I don't know if you noticed, but each one of us LOVES their Launcher. You're not going to change anyone's mind, you see? Have an awesome and blessed year! 🤗

The only thing I was able to find is that you can customize the app drawer to increase the grid size by going into Settings > Display > Home Screen > Apps screen grid. But that only helps a little, it would be much better to have the option to scroll rather than use pages.

Great post, following as I know there's going to be an answer or update.

Just took delivery of the Samsung A51 5G yesterday and couldn't believe there was no vertical app scroll?  Old Moto G6 Plus had a continuous scroll out the box.  Stop meddling Samsung.

Great phone so far.
