Galaxy SI had the same issue after the recent software update. I went to Samsung customer care center and we have to produce our invoice of mobile purchase. The technicians and staffs were courteous and my phone was serviced and my display was changed free of cost. I had to pay 502 RS for the service. I got my mobile within three days. The only condition was that our mobile should not have any physical damages and if the issue was caused by recent software update then we do not have to pay for the new display.
