Galaxy S1. Always perform a factory reset after every major software update. eg- when you're upgrading from marshmallow to nougat.
2. After minor software updates such as security patches and performance improvement updates always wipe your cache partition from recovery menu. to enter recovery- turn off your device, then press vol up+power+home simultaneously.
3. Do not use apps like clean master.
4. greenify and greenify pro do more harm than good when you hibernate apps which you use frequently and that can have a negative impact on battery.
5. In order to ensure that your device does not slow down after months always be sure to wipe app data and cache before uninstalling any app.
6. Apps like true caller, facebook and messenger are very resource and battery hungry, especially true caller.
7. Check out this app called SD maid pro ( costs around 10 -20 bucks), it's worth it, use it around once a month and it'll remove all the junk from your phone.
8. Anti virus softwares are not really needed and they tend to slow down the device and also consume battery.

Galaxy Sthe one present by default just uses certain functions which are proprietary to clean master and Samsung has thus embedded it into their system which is why it's not called clean master and is said to be powered by clean master.
