A common issue i have seen when a phone gets stolen is theif turns off the mobile phone even though device is locked, this leaves a person handicap as he cant use find my device feature as device is turned off.
Not sure why no one at bigger companies like samsung, apple are not able to figure this out and give this as an option to user.
