It is measured by Android OS versions so 9 and 9.5 would be the same Android version and that's all we know. It's only one year away so wait and see what they do.
Unless Samsung decides to give devices from 2023 One UI 9.5, assume that they're gonna pull the same stunt they did with the 2022 devices (Tab S8 series, S22 series, ZFold 5, ZFlip5, A33, A53, A73 and more did not get One UI 8.5)
I deleted my previous comment as I made a math error thinking that we(non S23 FE) are ending on 8.5 which would justify the FE ending on 9.0
Since the entire S23 series started on Android 13/One UI 5.1 with 4 years of major updates, Android 17/One UI 9 would be our final major update.
In the FE case, it would make more sense for the FE to end on 9.5 since FEs come out after new versions of Android are already out but I'm not expecting it to apply to the S23 FE specifically since the newer software policies only apply to the S24s and newer but fingers crossed for yall 😅
