Buddy if every company starts to do that they will start to go bankrupt. No it doesn't work like that. You won't get new camera features just coz the hardware might support it. That will require a whole new team to tune the software based on this different hardware. Which is waay waay more expensive for an older device than what they have already earned from it's sales.
