I have the same issue on S965F S9 + 64GB model, issue started after update Android 10 UI 2.5.

PWM Free can be found on XDA Developers and can be used as a workaround.

Oled Saver can be used as well but PWM Free gives better stability, still green but it is not flickering at least, and auto brightness feature is not working with those two apps, you have to adjust them manually.

This goes directly to Samsung, since there is no updates post January security patch 2021, what are you doing to fix this, or are your trying to force us to upgrade from phones which are still "good" and blazing fast even in 2021.

This has something to do with cooling and refresh rate for device, clearly samsung is doing nothing to fix this, Safe mode, reset, i have tried even to flash the phone, i have rooted the phone as well, but we are unable to downgrade to stock due to this **bleep** update that you have released.

Screen works perfectly fine with Always on display, when unlocked on power button it goes green, also goes for fingerprint iris etc.

I'm assuring you that i won't stop until we get update from samsung and not some shity generic response to boot phone in safe mode, factory reset, adaptive display, dark mode etc.

We have already tried that.

Please let us know if there will at least be update or not.

Post the recent security update, my S9 plus phone started to flicker and the battery started to heat up.. I consulted samsung service and they are quoting that due to liquid damage this is caused and said it would cost around 15k for screen & battery replacement..

I don't believe it, i have been using the "samsung's clear case" since the day 1 And never there was any liquid spillage over it..

my phone was working very well, and since the last security update I am facing this issue..

  • I have lost trust in Samsung's quality Device and updates.. I would not prefer to buy a Samsung device anymore..

My suspicion is that the problem, at least on my Notes , was that this is a thermal problem, since if I turned my phone off  and left it off for a while, it would operate normally for a while. I did an experiment - I put my Note9 in the refrigerator for 30 minutes when it started the fade to green. When I took it out, it was operating normally,  without a power off time out. So perhaps a heat sink became detached, or maybe a part has deterated and is in thermal runaway,

It's October now and still this is an issue, recently updated and the green/black glitchy screen has now appeared and become a way of life that I have to deal with from now on. It seems so be completely software related and there has to be a future update fix from Samsung to resolve it.

My only question is will a screen/digitizer replacement actually resolve the issue as Samsung recommends when it's not even the cause? Has there been anyone with this bug that's fixed it with a screen repair? I want this gone.

Me and my sister bought a galaxy s9 last year and now we both the same issue after an update, there is a green tint filter on the screen which is so annoying and changes the colours, I'm pretty positive that the problem is not the display but the firmware. And there are a lot of people facing this too, please fix this problem.

FIXED: I registered just to provide my fix.  My dimming problem seems to be a bug in brightness modification.  I simply go to DEVICE CARE and BATTERY - I choose Medium Power Saving or High performance.  When selecting, you should get an option to modify the settings before applying.  For BRIGHTNESS, +10 or -10 is default depending on which setting you apply.  The problem totally disappears if I change those defaults to No decrease or +5.  The options at the extremes seem to be faulty. after applying you should be able to cycle the phone on/off rapidly with no more flickering/dimming.
