Galaxy S7 and S7 edge do have a portrait mode, but it is called as Selective Focus. It isn't as good as Live Focus on the Galaxy Note 8, but it does detect the object and blurs out the background quite nicely most of the time.
The picture is taken from my s7 edge using Selective Focus.
