The device's charging behavior is designed to operate when the phone is inactive for a period exceeding five hours. For instance, overnight charging will cease at 80% capacity. However, prior to the user's wake-up time, the device will resume charging to reach 100%. Utilizing sleep mode is recommended for optimal performance of this function.

Adaptive mode needs some time to adapt to your usage. And it calculates sleep time based on what long duration your phone remains Idle.
What is your usage pattern and since when you've set the battery protection to Adaptive?
