I recently had the display on my Samsung device replaced at an authorized Samsung service center. However, I have some concerns regarding the authenticity of the replacement display.

I came across an online method that suggests checking if the screen is a genuine AMOLED display by displaying an all-black image. It is said that in AMOLED screens, the pixels emit their own light and black portions of the screen should not emit any light at all. In my case, when displaying an all-black image, I can still observe light emission from the screen, which has raised doubts about whether the replaced screen is truly an original AMOLED or an LCD.

Could you please confirm if this method is a reliable way to test the authenticity of an AMOLED screen? Also, if there is any reason to believe that a non-original display was used, kindly guide me on the appropriate steps to verify this and raise a claim, if necessary.

I would appreciate your assistance in clarifying this matter.

This method indeed works. You can display the all black image in full screen and turn off the lights, and your screen will not glow. If it still glows, it is not an OLED screen.

Thanks for your response. I did not received a itemized invoice for the service done. Just received the bill stating labour, other and frieght charges, as 0. When I checked with the service center they said the itemized bill will not be provided for the service covered under the claim.
