Hello Samsung Community,
I am beyond frustrated and frankly, appalled by the severe and unacceptable degradation of my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra's camera performance since updating to UI 7. What was once a flagship camera experience, a primary reason I chose this phone, has been utterly ruined. My device is now practically useless for serious photography.
The most glaring issue is the complete collapse of image clarity, especially when using the zoom functionality. Any attempt to zoom, even minimally, transforms what should be a sharp image into a pixelated, smeared, and utterly unrecognizable mess. Faces blur, textures vanish, and the entire scene looks like a distorted painting. This isn't a minor bug; it's a catastrophic failure.
But the problems extend beyond just zoom. Even in standard photo and video modes, the sharpness and vibrant detail that defined the S23 Ultra are gone. Photos consistently appear soft, lifeless, and grainy, particularly in low-light conditions which were previously a strength. The autofocus is also now unreliable, leading to many missed and blurry shots.
This is not what I paid for. Samsung, to push an update that so severely cripples a fundamental feature of your premium flagship device is simply unacceptable. It's an insult to your loyal customer base and a profound breach of trust. We invest in top-tier technology, not in products that are actively made worse by your own software.
Is anyone else experiencing this severe camera degradation on their S23 Ultra after the UI 7 update? Please, share your experiences here! The more users who report this with specific details and examples (if you can attach them), the harder it will be for Samsung to ignore.
Samsung needs to prioritize an immediate firmware update that specifically addresses and reverses this severe camera quality regression. My S23 Ultra currently delivers a profoundly inferior photographic experience, and I demand the original, high-quality performance back.
Thank you for your time and support in raising this critical issue.

This post is accurate and claims are verified, I agree with this post and I'm saving it for now. I'll post it somewhere when samsung are having great time. I'll make sure this hits them like a bullet. By the way February security patch was too good for me. The camera quality was awesome.

Dear Samsung Team,

After updating to OneUI 7 I have encountered serious issues with the camera and video mode. It has seriously degraded the quality of focusing on picture even before clicking the picture or capturing the video especially during night mode and sometimes during day mode. The single mode feature is also not able to capture photos or short videos in low light conditions. The quality is comparable to camera phone which is less than ₹10k. The photoes that I used to take when the phone had launched and post upgrading to OneUI 7 is way different may it be in day light or low light whether it is standard or zoom mode. Also I have seen battery draining at a faster rate. When you are providing any update to flagship phone you cannot downgrade the quality of the camera and other features by completely ignoring older phones. This is not what we have paid for if you are insisting on providing software updates for next 4 or 5 years. My sincere request to you is to release a new update which will fix these issues else I have to escalate this issues. Thank you.

Samsung sends an update to degrade camera are not unnoticed, these are intentionally done for s23u. They think Indians customers are fools and they fooled us. And we accepted?! We are not like other countries that directly sues these types of companies for bad business practices. If this happens in EU counties I bet their sorry a#$ won't be spared. EU markets are very serious about these types of matters.

It is true such practices are being followed by these huge companies since they think they are either too big to fail or they are confident that they can't be beaten by common people. But this will only hamper their loyal customers and then there will be shift from one brand to another. Hope Samsung addresses these issues else I will escalate for sure.

Our government doesn't look into these types of matters which impacts our daily life an economics. If they're serious about these types of matters then they would have taken actions. They have enough money for themselves which are drained from common peoples pocket so why care? Just out of context think about GST just assume for 1 single product you pay 1 Rupee extra the same price paid by the rest of the countries in a day. How much did they make in a day? None of the publics concern? How many changes they have made for our country? I'm not sure cause I don't see anything new around me. Look at developed counties they're not multiple times richer than us Indians. It's just that they have less corruptions. Hope you get my points.
