Galaxy S🔍 Possible Reasons for Overheating While Charging:
1️⃣ Fast Charging Generates More Heat
Samsung's 25W or 45W fast charging increases temperature. Higher power input = more heat dissipation.
2️⃣ Recent Software Updates
Some firmware updates affect thermal management.
3️⃣ Battery Aging or Calibration Issue
If the battery isn’t calibrated properly, it can cause heating.
4️⃣ High Ambient Temperature
If the room temperature is high, charging heat won’t dissipate efficiently.
5️⃣ Poor Ventilation
Even without a case, placing the phone on a soft surface (like a bed or pillow) can trap heat. 🛠 Solutions to Reduce Heating:
✅ Use Standard (Slow) Charging:
Go to Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → More battery settings → Disable Fast Charging and Super Fast Charging. Use a lower-wattage charger (10W-15W) for cooler charging.
✅ Charge in a Cool, Ventilated Area:
Avoid charging in hot environments. Place the phone on a flat, hard surface (like a table).
✅ Charge with Screen Off in Airplane Mode:
Turning on Airplane Mode while charging reduces power usage, keeping it cooler.
✅ Try Wireless Charging (Lower Heat Output)
If you have a 15W wireless charger, it generates less heat than wired fast charging.
✅ Check for Battery Calibration Issue:
Drain the battery completely (let the phone shut down). Charge to 100% in one go without using the phone. Restart the phone after reaching 100%. This helps recalibrate the battery sensor.
✅ Monitor Battery Health:
Dial *#0228# → Check Battery Health Status. If degradation is visible, it may be a battery issue. 📌 If Overheating Persists: Try charging with a different charger & cable (preferably a lower wattage one). Boot in Safe Mode (Press & hold power button → Long-press "Power off" → Tap "Safe mode") and charge to see if third-party apps are causing the issue. Visit a Samsung Service Center if heating remains excessive, as battery replacement may be needed.
