After nearly three years of careful use, my S22 Ultra has suddenly developed vertical green lines on the display—**no water exposure, no physical damage, never dropped**.

It started with one line at the end of March, and now it's three. This is unacceptable for a flagship device that was marketed as premium. Is this a software issue? Or was an inferior AMOLED panel used from the start to push the phone to market quickly?

Even worse, is this yet another case of **planned obsolescence**, where hardware mysteriously fails post-warranty, conveniently nudging customers toward an upgrade? With so many reports of similar problems, it’s hard not to question the integrity behind this.

Samsung, **we need answers**—real ones. Not excuses, not temporary patches. If this is a widespread manufacturing defect, then **own up to it and fix it**.

Could be both!
Maybe some batches of display used in phones have some manufacturing issue, due to which they are more prone to develop the green lines when they gets heated internally during the software update

And the security software updates were also said to be have some glitches due to which they triggered the display

Samsung’s **S22 green line issue** is unacceptable. Customers expect reliability from a **flagship phone**, especially with **4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches**. Yet, when a **display defect arises—likely from a software update—Samsung hides behind policies** instead of taking responsibility.

If a phone is *built to last beyond four years*, hardware failures caused by software updates **must be covered*. Ignoring customers *erodes trust*. Customer stranded with the phone and phone looses significant value in trade in as well.
