I recently updated my Galaxy S22 Ultra to One UI 8 based on Android 16. After updating, I suddenly noticed that out of nowhere, a bright white bar, similar to a dead pixel burn, started appearing on the top left of the display, just beside the front camera. There were horizontal lines on the display and faded and distorted colors from left to right. Initially, I thought this was a hardware issue as my S22 Ultra is 3.5 years old. But there's a catch.

When I switched the display from Adaptive (120 Hz) to Standard (60 Hz), the issue partially resolved as the bright white bar disappeared along with the horizontal lines, but there was still a hint of a faded bar on top and faded and distorted colors on the display.

When I switched back again to 120 Hz, the same bright white bar started appearing again. Now, I didn't purchase this expensive flagship to use it at a choppy 60 Hz refresh rate. My phone's display was running perfectly fine before the One UI 8 Update.

Samsung! I am voicing my concern loudly here. I need a permanent fix for this issue. I didn't pay such a hefty amount just to face such pathetic software glitches.

Waiting for a reply and action on this matter.

@rudraksh95 Based on my research, I got to know that the duplicate displays destroy the original look of the phone as they come with Thick bezels around all the borders along with quality issues. Does this website you just mentioned provides same look display as the original one for my s22 ultra?

Also is this only the solution? Can One UI 8.5 fix this software issue?

Yes, The lower bezel is thicker I agree. But what option do you have think. 23k if you are willing to pay you can change from samsung and you'll get the original one. But parts availability is also an issue.

Yeah. I agree on your point. But then should I wait for One UI 8.5 assuming it will fix this issue as I believe this is a software glitch and not a hardware issue.

Unfortunately once these issue occurs theres no fixing through software for sure. My M52 kept on increasing lines and one fine day the touch stoped working same with my F62. Within a span of 3 months both displays were unusable.

Maybe the case is different with flagship models.

No not different. One of my friends had Note 20 ultra. Lines kept on increasing and after few months display was full of lines and touch had it's own mind.

Ahh I see!!
If it gets pathetic, we should switch from samsung. That would be a better option I guess.
