Galaxy SHi, ReaMphaphathi third party accessories, such as cases, fans, virtual reality headsets, or selfie sticks, could be causing your device to overheat due to the extra power drawn by the accessory or by retaining the heat your device gives off.
If you do not have any of the above check the battery usage.
To check the battery usage:
1. From the home screen, swipe either up or down to access apps.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Battery and device care.
4. Select Battery.
5. Select Usage since last full charge.
From here you can see what applications and processes are using the most power.
Is there a specific app (that you haven't had open) that is using more than 25% of your device's power?
