Galaxy S
It's been almost 2 years since I bought the S23 (256GB) (Top end). I don't understand why the resale value of Samsung's flagship models is very less. I bought the mobile for around 66k. Within a month of buying the mobile, I casually tried to check the resale value of the mobile. I first checked it at a physical Samsung store, where they told me that the value will be around 28k INR. Then I checked the exchange value online (Amazon, Flipkart, SamsungStore), only to see that the exchange value is around 25k to 35k INR even in Samsung store app. I was shocked to see those exchange values.

Now S23's price has dropped to 50k which during the sales will be around 40k. Today, it's exchange value is around 20k to 30k which is very less when compared to IPhone 14 which was released 3months prior to S23. I checked the exchange value for a brand new S25 (256GB). Even the Samsung store is giving around 42k for IPhone 14, whereas it is giving only 30k for it's own child/mobile, the S23, which is very sad to see.
Seriously?? Wakeup Samsung! Improve your standards!
If not even you don't value your mobiles, then who will??

👏👏 I have posted a similar story in Samsung Community Forum a few days ago! An S-series phone costed originally around 40K two years back is showing resale value of just 15K. ?!! While on the other hand, users have commented about different price tags on similar models! It's totally confusing how Samsung evaluates the resale value - on exactly what parameters?? 🧐

Well, iphone ecosystem expenditure gets almost double if a consumer shifts from android for the first time! Still, it provides better resale value! On the other hand, Samsung leverages on strategic reduction of cost the subsequent years!! But in the process, premium/loyal customers are the ones who actually PAY the Price!!

You are right bro. It should atleast check the entire condition of the mobile and then fix the cost.

Yes🥲 I even bought the Buds2 Pro. I even thought of buying all the top end Samsung products to maintain an ecosystem satisfaction but realizing the reality with time made me lose that thought.

Consumers are not aware and the institutions are dull or lacking interest. In West/EU, they are implementing 'Right to Repair' to reduce E-waste and to ease the burden of upgrading Gadgets every year.! Here, we're spending our hard earned money trying just to get decent products & a fair after-sale service! 🙏 A classic case of Blindfold consumerism of middle-class in India !! 😔
