Galaxy S
Rumor has it that Samsung will reuse both Snapdragon and Exynos chips for its next flagship series, called the Galaxy S26. Sources report that Samsung will follow its usual practice of selling different S26 models, based on each region’s needs.

Most likely, the U.S. model of the Galaxy S26 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, but other regions could get the phone with an Exynos 2500. Samsung used the mixed-chip system in Galaxy S series phones up until the S23 and S24, when it switched to Snapdragon chips everywhere.
Samsung is reportedly using its own 3nm technology to develop the Exynos 2500, which could make phones faster and last longer. When all goes smoothly, the new Exynos chip may be better than before, and we could see it come close to the Snapdragon standard.
This change also follows Samsung’s plan to make its chips more competitive. If Exynos 2500 is a success, Samsung may not have to depend solely on Qualcomm for phone processors.
Since it’s early on, what happens might change later. Yet, if Samsung executes its plan, Galaxy S26 users might find that the performance varies depending on the chip in their device. As we approach the release of S26, we’re expecting to learn more about this chip.
