There is an issue with the proximity sensor on my Samsung S23 smartphone. The sensor is constantly blinking, causing a black smudge to appear on the screen below the camera. I have already disabled accidental touch protection and sensitive touch.
Please advise on the appropriate steps to resolve this issue.

To fix the proximity sensor issue on your Samsung S23:

1. Clean the screen around the camera and sensor.

2. Check for software updates in Settings > Software update.

3. Reset the sensor: Dial *#0*# select Sensor, and restart the device.

4. Clear the cache partition: Power off, then press Volume Up + Power, and select Wipe Cache Partition.

5. Use Safe Mode: Restart in Safe Mode to check for app conflicts.

If this resolves your issue, please accept it as a solution by clicking the three dots in my reply and selecting "Accept Solution" to help others with the same problem.

*#0*# doesn't work. Please provide another way to reset the sensor.

During a phone call, I observed a subtle blinking of lights in a specific area of the device. Upon further research, I discovered the presence of a proximity sensor at that location.
