I'm so bummed out with Samsung! Their premium phones, like the S23, don't have LHDC codec support, even though most earbuds use it now. Other Android phones, even cheaper ones, support it, but not Samsung. I don't get it – they're lagging behind in the Android market. And OneUI 7? Don't even get me started.

LHDC is a highres but primarily a Chinese codec popular with Chinese devices. Samsung doesn't support it but it supports LDAC (by Sony), AptX (By Qualcomm) both lossless codecs. I don't know a single non-Chinese mainstream phone brand that supports LHDC. In summary it is a great codec strongly tied to Chinese products.

But, most of the feature loaded and budget gadgets in market are chinese. While, sony and other are expansive. Gadgets i am taking is earbud, headphone etc.. so i think samsung should provide this little thing..

It's an intentional collaborative decision by Apple-Samsung and some other non-Chinese phone brands, to not support LHDC. Could be something against China or whatever.

Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

As per your concern, we want to inform you that you can check the Bluetooth Audio Code that supports your device by following these steps:

Path: Settings app > Developer settings > Bluetooth Audio Codes. If a particular codec is greyed out, it means it is not supported by your phone or headset.

If you have any other concerns regarding Samsung products, kindly feel free to get in touch with us.

Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
