I receive 5G signal on my phone but when I choose NR only it shows no coverage.
Is this a device software issue or it's just not supported by Airtel?

NR only is only for Jio as jio has opted for Standalone 5G architecture. Airtel is using Non standalone 5G which means it is dependent on 4G & uses it as a core network to provide 5G. Whereas Jio doesn't rely on 4G. It has its separate 5G network for calls & data which is a huge advantage over airtel...

NR Only means your device will only connect with 5G network. But as airtel doesn't has separate 5G architecture, so if you select NR Only, your device will get out of network...

It means jio uses nr band=less battery consumption
Airtel uses both nr and lte band=high battery consumption

Exactly. Jio has huge advantages over airtel as being a only Standalone 5G network provider in india. Standalone 5G architecture results in crazy fast 5G speeds, you can make calls over 5G networks, basically it's called VoNR or Vo5G, lower latency while gaming & better response time when you browse anything on the Internet...

See the screenshot, this is what I'm saying about. Just see the Mobile Voice Network Type & Mobile Data Network Type...

Both NR SA means Standalone 5G.
On airtel, mobile voice network type will be LTE & mobile data network type will be NR NSA means Non-Standalone 5G or 4G+5G...1700887487007.jpg1700887711940.jpg

Sayan15: what makes you feel JIO has a "huge advantage over Airtel" by having NE (New Radio)? Calls are clear on a 4G VOLTE network and there is no audible difference on a 5G NR network.

Obviously jio has huge advantages. It’s far superior than airtel specially in 5G networking. Carrier aggregation, n28 band & VoNR (Voice over 5G). Airtel has nothing. In technical terms, Non standalone 5G is considered as 4G network bcoz it relies in 4G architecture.

I know calls are clear over 4G VoLTE bcoz as of now 5G is not widespread in india, specially in rural & village areas. Once jio covers entire india with It’s standalone 5G network, it will gradually start It’s VoNR service for placement of calls over It’s 5G network. When this happens, calls over 5G network will have superior quality than 4G.

Just gain some knowledge about technology before commenting...
