I am writing to you today to express my concern about the IP68 water resistance feature of my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. I purchased this phone in May 2022 and have been using it carefully and responsibly. However, on 27.08.2023, I accidentally dropped my phone in mug which is deep 0.01 m only . I immediately removed the phone within 5 secs from the water and dried it off, but the screen is not working.
The IP68 rating means that the phone should be able to withstand being submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes.
I contacted Samsung customer service and they informed me that the IP68 water resistance feature is only guaranteed for 1 year.so I am not sure why the water resistance feature failed.I had paid 8000/- for replacement of screen.
I am requesting that Samsung need to take a action. I am a loyal Samsung customer and have been using their products for many years. I am disappointed that the IP68 water resistance feature did not work as advertised.
You said you had paid Rs.8000 to replace screen. If you had replaced the screen, the IP68 water resistance is busted after that. And since the phone is more than 1 year old they denied you warranty. Hard luck bro. You may try to raise the concern on twitter by tagging various youtubers if they can help you or bring it to the notice of Samsung.
