I think you have to set 4 pin while setting up our device first set-up.

I did check that, but it was defaulting to 8 digit pin right from the start. Any suggestion on how to undo or reset to 4 digit pin? Also pattern lock is not enabled.

Nope. Did not find any alternative. Managing with the 8 digit pin.
