Galaxy SSamsung doesn’t natively allow removing the search bar from the app drawer, but here are workarounds:
✅ Option A: Use a Third-Party Launcher
Install a customizable launcher like:
Nova Launcher
Smart Launcher 6
Niagara Launcher
These launchers allow you to:
Remove the search bar completely
Customize how apps are arranged
Change gestures and animations
👉 Nova Launcher Steps:
1. Install Nova Launcher from the Play Store.
2. Go to Nova Settings > App drawer > Search bar placement.
3. Select None.
> This will remove the search bar from your app drawer.
---
🔄 2. Show Notifications First Instead of Quick Settings
By default, when you swipe down on a Samsung phone, you get:
First swipe: Quick Settings + Notifications
Second swipe: Full Quick Panel
If you're seeing Device Controls / Smart View / SmartThings on top instead of notifications, here's how to fix it:
✅ Steps to Prioritize Notifications:
1. Swipe down fully to open the Quick Panel.
2. Tap the 3-dot menu (⋮) on the top right > Quick panel layout.
3. Tap Show brightness and device control at bottom.
4. Disable or move Device control / SmartThings / Media output to the bottom.
If you don’t see this setting, do the following:
Open Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings.
Make sure Show notification icons and Swipe gestures for notifications are enabled.
Go to Device control and toggle it off if available.
