Freezing Galaxy S23 Ultra – Phone Becomes Unresponsive

Hello everyone,

I’ve been experiencing a frustrating issue with my Galaxy S23 Ultra for the past 3 days. While using Instagram(specially while scrolling reels), the phone randomly hangs/freezes. Once it freezes, I’m completely locked out — the screen is stuck on Instagram, and no buttons respond.

• The power/lock button doesn’t work, so I can't lock the screen.
• Back/home gestures are unresponsive.
• The only way to recover is to perform a hard restart .

This is happening consistently and only with Instagram so far. I’ve already cleared the app cache, but the issue persists.

I’m now unsure whether this is an Instagram app issue or something wrong with the phone/software itself.

Is anyone else facing this issue? Any suggestions or official fixes would be appreciated.

Did you update the Instagram app?

Yeah, updated it today. Now let's see if I face the issue again

Just uninstall the update from the app setting.

@royo1e I don't think there is an option to uninstall the update( talking about oneui )

Go to application setting, tap on three vertical dots icon, uninstall updates option will appear

I have updated instagram. Do I need to reinstall it, btw I am using beta version
