Hi,
Are Galaxy phones already encrypted like the iPhone, or do we have to manually do it?

Also, does encrypting your phone slows it down?

Yes, in most of the Android devices, its automatically encrypted(if am not wrong after android lollipop/Marshmallow introduction).

That's part of biometrics and security..

yeah, sometimes it slows your device as encrypted files take a bit longer to open up than non-encrypted.

What are the advantages of encrypting SD card?

Why should we do it?

Just like device encryption,
By encryption it locks the information and if in case your sd card stolen or removed by someone and if try to move your content/files on it ,then its useless for them and can't be readable.
