Detailed notification popup style

I am using the detailed notification pop-up style, but my device's lock screen no longer illuminates when notifications arrive.

Is this expected? I have used brands of phones, including iOS devices, and I have not encountered this issue before.

Frankly speaking i prefer this behaviour. This prevents unnecessary waking up of the screen which wastes battery life

But when my phone is on silent, I miss the notifications because the screen doesn't light up.

It's a shame but they have removed this in recent years.

Now your options are

using 3rd party app
AOD for notification
Changing pop-up style
Using flash

But none of above will replace the Inbuilt thing .

Yeah, I tried the Always On Display feature, but like you said, it doesn't really work the same as the regular lock screen.

Umm.. can't do much however if you really need this. You gotta trust 3rd party and some extra battery drain.
