Galaxy SIt’s a bit of a head-scratcher why Good Lock—the ultimate playground for Samsung customization—hasn't fully leaned into multicolor status bar icons yet. Currently, we can hide icons or change the overall theme via Quick Star, but granular control over individual icon colors is still missing.
Why This is a Great Addition
- Improved Accessibility: High-contrast colors for the battery (e.g., bright green when full, red when low) or distinct colors for different SIM cards (Network indicators) would make the status bar much easier to read at a glance.
- Aesthetic Consistency: Users who spend hours perfecting a "Material You" or neon aesthetic often find the static grey/white icons to be a visual speed bump.
- Functional Cues: Imagine the notification bell changing color based on the priority of the pending alert.
How it could be implemented in Good Lock
If Samsung were to add this, it would likely live within the Quick Star or Theme Park modules. Here is how that UI might look:
Feature.Current State.Proposed Customization
Battery Indicator | Monochrome (Grey/White) | Multi-stage coloring (e.g., 100% Green, 50% Yellow, 15% Red). |
Network Signal | Fixed System Color | Dual-SIM color coding (SIM 1 Blue, SIM 2 Purple). |
Notifications | App-specific or Grey | Categorical tinting (Social apps Blue, Work apps Orange). |
System Icons | Static | Full hex-code support or gradient overlays. |
