Unrelated Contacts are merging automatically in my device. I get to know this when I dial Mr X's number and the name of Mr Y appears on thw screen... Why is this happening?

We would like to inform you that Linking Contacts helps to merge (or join) contacts from multiple sources (Phone, SIM, Facebook, Gmail, etc. ). This helps to remove duplicate contact entries in the phone's address book. After linking two contacts, when you try to edit, two device options are shown for editing in two separate contacts (which were merged/linked). Sometimes, the phone may put together two contacts not required by user. If so, then follow these steps to unlink the contact: 1. View the joined contact. 2. Tap Manage linked contacts (Link icon found near 'Connected via' section) 3. Tap the Minus symbol (-) next to the contact to unlink.

I have some 1000 contacts in my phone and some 400 are linked... How do you think it is possible to unlink every contact manually?
Question is why is this happening first of all?

I have found a solution to this problem. Log out of your gmail account and relogin. Contacts will be separated.
